It actually pains me to see how they literally have zero freedom and privacy left because of their immense popularity globally.
While watching Roommate, I was REALLY shocked by the super tight security across their hotel floor for them. It was already midnight yet there are still quite a number of fans loitering within the hotel’s premises, hoping to catch even a glimpse of them.
Their lives now are literally, performances then back to wherever they’re currently staying at, can I even call that living..? There is so minimal rest time before they have to fly to yet another country for another concert/performance. They can’t enjoy the beauty of each new place they visit because they must stay confined within the hotel rooms for their safety from the increasing crazy fans. They’re basically performing robots now..
So times like these, I wished that they were just moderately successful so they get to actually enjoy their stardom yet still be able to live without so much fear for their safety and experience the world around them at their prime ages now. They’re getting drained of their health and energy and there’s no time for them to rest and recharge. Members are falling sick, getting injured but they do not have the privilege of time to rest and recover even half of their original strength before they have to rush for yet another one of their never-ending schedules. The amount of stress, pressure and pain they are experiencing now, hurts to even imagine. The huge toll on their mental and physical health in the long run, really make me worried of any permanent damage that will arise when they are of an older age. They may think back and smile at the many performances in countries they’ve never imagined ever travelling to but yet sigh at how they can’t remember anything else about the country other than having performed there. They may think back and smile at seeing their names on the news for sweeping charts, topping album sales yet shiver at the memory of being groped by strangers and receiving disturbing ‘gifts’.
I’m really happy that they’re so successful, I really am. I’m also thankful that they are so loved by everyone, this shows that they’ve achieved their dreams and are enjoying the fruits of their labour now. Their success means they’ll appear in more variety shows, more songs recorded, more stages to perform at and fans like me get more excitement to have so many shows to watch, and so many news to keep up with.
I sincerely wish them all the best, for their health, safety and careers. I’m grateful that they’re always showing their best sides for all performances!
No matter what happens, I’ll always stay as an EXO-L and I’ve never been an official fan of any other idols before and never will! EXO hwaiting, SARANGHAJA!!
